"This was a challenge because Tom is such a good upright bass player, trying to get that same tone from an electric bass with frets was no easy undertaking.  What did help is that Tom knew exactly what kind of sound he wanted and is so articulate that I could understand what he was after.  We tried a good number of preamp combinations to get it right. 

The colors came from an old Rockabilly album cover.  Tom knew right off, that that's what he wanted.  I think it really looks cool.

Tom tours with his Dad and plays a good number of dates with "The Vees."  They've got a couple of damn good CDs and if you like Rockabilly you've got to have these in your collection."
